Let me explain a couple of things: I am a retired Australian, who post "way" decided to come and live in Galicia and do what I could to help pilgrims. I am on a small self funded pension. Most days I go to Portomarin to shop for fruit and other supplies for pilgrims.
Pilgrims increase in August and so too does bad behavior. Last Thursday I went on a bus trip all day. I came back to my home, to find: The table was completely empty of pastries, fruit, water and coffee. OK no problem, BUT in the donation box was a grand total of 8 euros. I CAN NOT KEEP BUYING FOOD AND DRINKS FROM MY OWN MONEY FOR PILGRIMS. IT COSTS A LOT MORE THAN 8 EUROS TO COMPLETELY REPLACE EVERYTHING ON THE TABLE.
The straw that nearly broke the camels back was that there was rubbish everywhere, DESPITE providing a bin, AND someone had entered the downstairs of my house, DESPITE a "private house no entry" sign, and pissed on my floor (actually two people - two puddles). The other HUGE issue for me is that feral cats are a big problem here in Vilacha and DESPITE my sign asking pilgrims not to feed the cats, cat lover pilgrims most days do just that, and leave bread or other food on the ground to Encourage the cats . They do not see the cats walking all over the pilgrim table, biting into fruit and making pests of themselves by constantly meowing, and calling for a mate in the middle of the night, waking me up.
By the time pilgrims get to Vilacha they 'only have four or five more days to go of their pilgrimage. It upsets me deeply that some pilgrims seem to have no care for Their fellow Human Beings. If there is one thing it would be good for you to think about (even if your pilgrimage is not a religious one) would be to try to focus your attention outward on your surroundings and other people.As you walk focus on the concept of loving kindness towards your fellow man / woman . Smile, say hello, ask people how they 'are going (que tal?)
A couple of things stopped me finishing with my donation table for pilgrims. One, is the gratitude notes I get - they are little thing to brighten my day and make me feel appreciated. Second, some nice pilgrim made me a little present out of wire. Photo attached. Thanks whoever you are.
So enough of my complaints, yes I will continue the donation pilgrim table and offering a place for pilgrims to stop and rest. But pilgrims Please, lift your game and think about what you are doing while you are making use of my hospitality.

He llegado bastante cerca últimamente a renunciar a la prestación de la tabla peregrino donativo.
Voy a explicar un par de cosas: que soy un australiano jubilado, que publican camino decidió venir a vivir a Galicia y hacer lo que pudiera para ayudar a los peregrinos. Volví a mi casa, para encontrar: La mesa estaba completamente vacío de bollería, fruta, agua y café. Aceptar no hay problema, pero en el cuadro de la donación era un gran total de 8 euros. NO PUEDO MANTENER LA COMPRA DE ALIMENTOS Y BEBIDAS DE MI PROPIO DINERO PARA PEREGRINOS. CUESTA MÁS DE 8 EUROS PARA REEMPLAZAR POR COMPLETO TODO SOBRE LA MESA.
La gota que casi derramó el vaso fue que no había basura por todas partes, a pesar de mi proporcionando una papelera, y alguien había entrado en la planta baja de mi casa, a pesar de una "casa privada sin entrada" signo, y orinó en mi piso (dos personas en realidad - dos charcos). El otro enorme problema para mí es que los gatos asilvestrados son un gran problema aquí en Vilacha ya pesar de mi cartel pidiendo peregrinos no para alimentar a los gatos, la mayoría de los días los amantes del gato de peregrinos hacen precisamente eso y dejar el pan u otros alimentos en el suelo para alentar a los gatos . Por el momento los peregrinos llegan a Vilacha sólo tienen cuatro o cinco días de su peregrinación a ir. Me molesta profundamente que algunos peregrinos parecen tener ningún cuidado por los demás seres humanos. Si hay una cosa que sería bueno para que usted pueda pensar (incluso si su peregrinación no es religioso) es tratar de enfocar su atención hacia afuera y al caminar meditar sobre el concepto de bondad hacia el prójimo / mujer . Un par de cosas me impidió terminar con mi tabla de donativo. Uno de ellos, es decir las notas de gratitud que recibo - una pequeña cosa pero aclaran mi día y me hacen sentir apreciado.
